Limerick LGFA Development 2021

Hundreds of girls throughout the county have been taking part in development programmes, clubs avail of opportunities to take part at development blitzes, coach and club education is of huge interest and links with the counties schools are being nurtured. Development is aided by our generous sponsors Ingenium TC and Fitzgeralds Woodlands House Hotel. For 2021 the Limerick LGFA Development Committee is led by John Macnamara, County Development Officer. Participation in the Player Development Programme (PDP)

Limerick LGFA Development Committee and PDP Coaches and Co-Ordinators are currently planning for the U13, U15 and U17 PDP’s.

What is the LGFA Player Development Programme – PDP?

• An Inclusive programme for all players, focusing on a wide range of abilities

• An opportunity for players to develop individually, with different players, learn new skills, and develop the fundamental skills in a positive and safe environment

• An opportunity for all Counties to enhance their process of player development

• An opportunity for coach development and networking within a County

• Promotion of a non-competitive enjoyable environment prioritising the involvement

of all players

Titles such as ‘LGFA Development Academy’ or ‘LGFA Academy Programme’ no longer exist.

Limerick LGFA Development Committee and PDP Coaches and Co-Ordinators are currently planning for the U13, U15 and U17 PDPs. With the COVID-19 situation changing everyday, the implementation of the PDP project in 2021 will be very much based on Government Guidelines and guidance from the Gaelic Games Advisory committee. It is important to be aware that the PDP is specifically a player development project (not a County Team) and therefore guidelines that may apply to intercounty activity will not apply to this programme.
