Club History:

St Brigid’s Ladies Football Club was established in 2006. On its first year the club entered an U12 and an U14 team where both teams reached the C finals. Success didn’t come until 2008 when the U14 team were victorious in the C cup final to bring back the clubs first piece of silverware. The club has since brought back silverware every year until 2020 hit and not all our teams were able to take to the pitch due to Covid-19.

St Brigid’s cater for girls from U6 right up to Senior level from Hospital, Herbertstown, Caherconlish, Caherline, Bruff and Knocklong.

The club reached senior status in 2017 when we were victorious over Athea in the Intermediate county final.

The club to date has 3 Munster 7’s titles (2015, 2016, 2017) and 2 All Ireland 7's titles (2014,2016).

Our club players have represented us in many teams including various age groups with Limerick and also with John the Baptist Community School. Collectively our players have brought back a total of 42 All Ireland football medals between club, school and county.

On 19/6/21 St Brigid’s walked and ran for a total of 24hours in order to help raise funds for Pieta House. The fundraiser was extremely successful with the club raising €1,885. Pieta House is a charity that helps people with their mental health and it also helps families deal with the loss of their loved ones who have passed away by suicide. With the money raised we were informed we had helped 3 full families be funded from start to finish through Pietas service. This is a fundraiser that we will always be very proud of participating in. Well done to everyone who participated and a huge thank you to everybody that donated.

6 week walking programme

On the 17/9/21 we created a 6 week walking programme giving our participants weekly goals to achieve. We organised a group walk each week using different walking routes where we welcomed new faces every week. Each week we built up our kms tracked and our time spent walking. On the final week our walking group tackled Sliabh Riadh and enjoyed the lovely views of our surrounding communities. Well done to everyone who participated.
